CRAFTY - New sewing machine for my birthday!

Rob got me a lovely birthday present this year - a sewing machine! I have my Mom's old Husqvarna but the motor blew about 2 yrs ago and it would have cost >$150 to have it repaired! I'll keep it in the basement just in case I want to get it up and running in the future.
Since I have been planning to make a skirt from the book my sister got me years ago (~ think Xmas of 2008), I got right to it! I already had the fabric and was all set to go (minus a quick trip to the fabric shop for a zipper).
Rob helped me take my measurements and I made a handy little pattern.
Skip through a few steps - measure, cut, recut b/c I measured myself about 3 inches too large...
Handy light for sewing - notice my new sewing nook in the spare bedroom. I also got this table for my birthday. I now have my very own crafting space.
Ta - DA! First sewing project complete. Only minor issues installing the zipper (had to double back on one side to make sure I got though the fabric and the side of the zipper).
I wore this to a dinner party at our friend's house and got more comments about the hooker boots than the skirt:) My next project will be an apron.
